Cost of Invisalign

Tolley Dental is proud to be an Invisalign provider. We love giving our patients the beautiful and straight smiles they deserve. However, many of our patients are sometimes concerned about the cost associated with Invisalign.

We understand the concern, and we think you will find our orthodontic treatments to be more affordable than you would first imagine. Between insurance coverage and monthly payment plans with a low down payment, we can often produce a treatment plan for patients on a tight budget.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners designed to shift your teeth into the correct position gradually.

As each new set of custom aligners is added to your mouth, you will see changes in your bite and teeth position. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign dramatically reduces the visibility of braces and does not require the use of metal wires, brackets, or bands.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Invisalign has a starting cost of $5,500. The cost can vary widely depending on the length of treatment and depending on the case. However, financing options are available to help make the cost more affordable. Our team at Tolley Dental will discuss payment options with you during your consultation.

Does Insurance Cover Invisalign aligners?

Some dental insurance plans may cover part or all of the cost of Invisalign treatment. However, if Invisalign is not covered, and you have a high deductible insurance plan, funds can be paid from a Health Savings Account.

Suppose your dental insurance plan does not cover treatment. In that case, you can consider other options for payment, such as funds from a Flexible Spending Account. Many employers offer this type of account by pulling pre-tax funds from your payroll. Dental services, including Invisalign, qualify as a necessary oral health cost to qualify for spending from Flexible Spending Accounts.

Our office can help you establish a monthly payment plan for treatment costs outside of what is covered by your insurance provider. We can also develop affordable monthly payments for your treatment in many cases. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) usually does not offer coverage for Invisalign.

Why do I need Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign aligners can correct a variety of orthodontic problems, including:

• Crooked teeth
• Gapped teeth
• Misaligned teeth
• Overbites
• Underbites

Advantages and Disadvantages of Invisalign

Invisalign offers several advantages over conventional braces, including:

• Greater discretion: Invisalign is clear and virtually invisible, so you can go about your daily life without feeling self-conscious.
• Shorter treatment time: Invisalign is typically faster than braces and other Invisalign alternatives.
• Fewer office visits: Invisalign requires fewer office visits than braces. We only need to see you every few months, but braces require an office visit every few weeks.
• Greater Comfort: the trays used for Invisalign are smooth and made from plastic. So no metal brackets are irritating your lips like with traditional metal braces.

However, there are also some disadvantages to Invisalign treatment, including:

• Cost: Invisalign costs can sometimes be more expensive than braces.
• Compliance: You should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day for effective results.
• Limited treatment options: Invisalign may not provide adequate care for more complex orthodontic treatment needs.
